Interview at Modern Girl Style

Haven’t been the most attentive blogger the past couple of weeks.  Things will slow down soon and I’ll be back nattering on as always.   In the meantime, here’s a link to an interview by Kamela Mirich, at Modern Girl Style. (Such a hip and attractive site!)

Anything interesting in your world?  Talk to me.

  1. Cool!
I saw a plug for Lost Recipe in the January All You magazine the other day (print mag). You’re getting all kinds of good buzz!

I’m plugging away at my final (FINAL!) draft. Seems like I’ve been saying that for months, but this time I think it might be true. The suggestion you made about waiting through the holidays was good–gave me time for a little more critique and some distance I needed to make some fixes that needed to be made. Now, I’m thinking I’ll be able to start the query process in a week or two. Whee! I’m pretty sure if I revise my query letter any more, I’ll have to wad it up and start over. 🙂

I’m really looking forward to this long week-end: hoping to see that new movie that Dustin Hoffman and Emma Thompson are in; renting Albert Brooks’ movie “Mother” – my husband has never seen it and it’s too funny to miss; going to St. John’s Cathedral in Denver with friends for Evensong and then dinner at Bistro Vendome afterwards – the frites portion of their steak frites is amazing and the steak portion isn’t shabby either; reading “The Alchemist” by Paulo Coehlo – I’ve never read it before and I think it’s an amazing book. I am so looking forward to doing these little things.

Thanks for these, you guys. They made me feel so grounded and reconnected.

Julie, send the queries. You can keep revising meantime.

Barb, that sounds wonderful. I haven’t been to Bistro Vendome. Or read The Alchemist, despite seeing it in every book store in every country I’ve visited since its release! Now I think I must find it.

More? What else are you guys doing? I just made some pom baklava and the fragrance in the house is amazing. Not interested in eating any, which is kind of weird. Think I’ve had enough sweets!
